Plan for the night-time scenario
Guest occupancy, reduced staffing and people moving from upper floors in low-light conditions can materially change how the shelter route works. The project should be tested against realistic operating scenarios rather than only daytime staffing.
Hospitality-specific questions
- maximum realistic number of guests and staff;
- routes from rooms, public spaces and parking levels;
- accessible movement for guests with limited mobility;
- clear signs understandable to foreign visitors;
- staff procedures for guiding guests;
- water, sanitation, ventilation, backup power and communications for the intended stay scenario.
Consider normal operations during implementation
Construction access, noise, blocked routes, crane work and utility connections may affect hotel operations. The implementation schedule should therefore be linked to actual site constraints and operating periods, not treated as a generic construction duration.
