TCO · lifecycle cost

Compare shelter cost over 3, 5 or 10 years

A lower acquisition cost does not always mean a lower long-term cost. Enter your own capital and annual operating figures so different project options can be compared on the same time horizon.

No automatic conversion. Your selection is remembered for other cost calculators.

Keep all amounts in one selected currency. Currency switching does not convert entered numbers. The calculator does not insert inflation, discount rates, taxes, tariff growth or replacement assumptions.

What TCO means in a shelter project

Total cost of ownership combines the initial capital amount with user-entered annual maintenance, energy, service-contract and replacement or repair allowances. It is a comparison tool, not a discounted cash-flow model and not a prediction of future tariffs.

When TCO is useful

  • comparing two technical solutions with different operating requirements;
  • planning multi-year municipal or corporate budgets;
  • checking whether a lower purchase price excludes service or lifecycle costs;
  • supporting an internal investment or procurement discussion.
