Identify which category, facility type, capacity, site and engineering scenario the requirement applies to.

Translate the requirement into measurable project inputs, drawings, systems, scope boundaries and documents.

Procurement & acceptance

Ask suppliers to price the same scope and define evidence, commissioning and handover before award.

Do not treat the standard number as a complete specification

A supplier statement such as “complies with DBN” or “manufactured to DSTU” does not by itself define the facility category, project scope, capacity, site conditions, engineering systems, installation work or acceptance documents. These elements still need to be made explicit in the project and procurement package.

Keep Ukrainian terms visible in formal project communication

Where a regulatory category matters, retain the Ukrainian term or abbreviation next to the English explanation. This reduces the risk that a translation changes the intended legal or technical meaning.
